Your domain name
A domain is your web address, like yourbusiness.com. If you decide to work with us on a new website, the first year of a standard domain name, such as a .com, .net or .org at its normal yearly price, is included. Premium domains that a registry prices higher are not included, and we tell you the cost first.
Already have a domain? We connect your new site to the domain you own, and nothing changes about who owns it.
It is registered in your name, so you own it. If you ever want to move it to another provider, we transfer it for free. New domains have a 60 day transfer lock set by the registry rules, so a move can only finish 60 days after the domain is first registered.
For a domain we registered for you, the yearly renewal from the second year on is part of the care plan. Without a care plan, we bill that renewal to you at cost. A domain you already owned stays with you, and you keep renewing it as you do now.
We register a domain only after you approve your site and sign up. Previews are shown on a free preview link, never on a domain bought for you.
How payment works
- The preview is always free.
- Before any paid work, we agree in writing on what we will build and the price.
- When you approve your site, we send an invoice. Your site goes live once it is paid.
- The care plan is billed monthly by invoice. You can cancel anytime by email.
- No hidden fees and no long contracts.
Where your site lives
Your site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, in an account in your name, with Pinegate added as a member so we can make changes. If you ever stop working with us, your site stays with you.
